This girl

After more than a year, this cat is becoming less timid, venturing to approach the food bowl as I fill it.  Last night she came up to me to eat from the spoon as I filled her bowl.  I fed her from the spoon last night and this morning.  She seems to prefer this than to eat from a bowl.  Whatever it takes.....

End of May

Working to clear the garden beds and see what is sprouting today.

One of my helpers, Boris.

Larkspur seedlings that I started in the refrigerator.  In a fleece tunnel to protect them from frost.

Saint Nicholas Day Giveaway!!!!

Tomorrow is Saint Nicholas Day and you need a present.  So I am giving away a cd audio book by Elizabeth Peters titled "The Laughter of Dead Kings."  You can tell from the poor smartphone photos that this set is new in the unopened package. Wow, don't you want this Vicky Bliss Novel of Suspense?  Yes! You most certainly do because it is both "funny and engaging."

Eight cds, contain ten hours of unabridged suspense set in Egypt's Valley of the Kings.  Read by Barbara Rosenblat, "multi-award winning reader of numerous audiobooks."  The author was brought up in Illinois and earned a Ph.D. in Egyptology from the University of Chicago, blah, blah, blah, etc..

So just leave a comment and I will randomly draw a name on December 6, 2014 at 5 pm (central time zone).  I will send the cd set to the lucky winner as soon as I have your address.  And best of all I will pay for the shipping (worldwide).  How could you lose?   Well, by not leaving a comment of course.  So good luck everyone and please don't shame me by not entering.

Most but not all.

October Garden

The garden became a bit of a mess toward the end.  Everything toppled over and sprawled onto the lawn.  Still there were plenty of flowers for insects and birds.
